I thought I'd start a thread for sharing memories of your early experiences and impressions of Homestar Runner that haven't come up before. Ah, nostalgia. I've mentioned many times that Homestar Runner was a big part of my childhood. Main Page 12 holds a special place in my heart, as that was the one my mom had bookmarked on her laptop — she would bring up that page whenever she would show me and my brother something on the site. It probably wasn't until I started browsing the site on my own that I realized there were other main pages.
Before I discovered the HRWiki, I didn't know who The Brothers Chaps were, only that they appeared in the credits for many older toons. Most of these toons also had the older art style and older character voices. So for a while, I theorized that "The Brothers Chaps" were the original creators of Homestar Runner, but that the cartoon had since been taken over by another team who gave it the look and sound we know today. (There were holes in this theory, but obviously I wasn't doing any research.) I was surprised to learn (probably through the wiki) that it's been the same two guys since the dawn of the website.
It's hard to believe there was a time before I'd watched every Homestar Runner toon, but it was around when I was in eighth grade that I started getting serious about exploring the entire website — even the bits I didn't find as funny. I don't have a clear memory of it but there must have been a time when I scrolled through the whole sbemail list, watching through all the ones I hadn't seen yet. I kept finding more toons: "Whoa, how have I never seen The Interview before?" And then there were the games. I'd long known about Stinkoman 20X6, but I remember playing some of the adventure games like the Dangeresque Roomisode and Thy Dungeonman 3 for the first time. Those were so much fun; I think I was at about the right age to appreciate them. Once I found the wiki, it probably helped me fill in any remaining gaps in what I'd watched or played. Now I wish I could watch everything for the first time again.
I still wish I remembered how I found the Homestar Runner Wiki in the first place. It was most likely a Google search sometime in 2015. Up until that point I'd sort of been thinking of Homestar Runner as something that only my family and I knew about, so I was a bit blown away to find out that it had enough fans to create this exhaustive knowledge base. I browsed the wiki for a while, then finally made up my mind to create an account when I found a running gag page with missing information. (I didn't want to edit as an anonny.)
So there are some of my teddy graham memories. I'll post more when more things come back to me.
